Emotions II

Rhonda Gail | May 29, 2009

Awhile back I featured a few wedding shots full of emotion. It is still one of my favorite posts, however simple. I love that I can look at a single shot and feel pure joy or have my eyes fill with tears. That is the sign of a truly wonderful photographer.

A Clane Gessel Wedding: Cody & Jeanette

Rhonda Gail | May 27, 2009

I love discovering a photographer I didn’t know about! It’s so exciting to add more styles and perspectives into my Google Reader! My latest discovery is Clane Gessel, based out of Seattle. Clane is a sweetheart and his photography is to die for! He recently sent over images of Cody and Jeanette’s wedding, another black and green masterpiece to put me head over heels!

Words To Wed By, IV

Rhonda Gail | May 25, 2009

The Art Of A Good Marriage by Wilfred Arlan Peterson

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.

A good marriage must be created.

In marriage the little things are the big things.

It is never being too old to hold hands.

It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once a day.

It is never going to sleep angry.

It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through all the years.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.

It is standing together facing the world.

It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.

It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.

It is not looking for perfection in each other.

It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humour.

It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.

It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.

It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.

It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.

It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner.

An Anna Kuperberg Wedding: Patricia & Ian

Rhonda Gail | May 24, 2009

Anna Kuperberg is a genius.  That’s all there is to it.  Her wedding images make me feel like I was there, feeling every moment and every emotion.  This wedding held at a private home is amazing.  I love the simplicity, the veil, the dress, oh… those Chanel shoes!

Great Deal For Filling Your Flip-Flop Basket!

Rhonda Gail | May 22, 2009

flip flops Great Deal For Filling Your Flip Flop Basket!

Photo from With This Ring.  Gorgeous black, white, and green wedding, by the way.

One of my favorite wedding details is placing a basket of flip-flops by the dance floor for tired feet!  It’s also a cute idea to supply flip-flops beachside for a beach wedding.  This Saturday, the 23rd, for one day only, Old Navy has their [solid, non-metallic] flip-flops on sale for $1 a pair!  There is a limit of 5 pairs, but if you are the least bit organized, you can recruit friends, family, and bridesmaids to help you stock up!  I have also heard brides who took advantage of this last year say that the limit was lifted near the end of the day.  Can’t hurt to check it out!

To Keep Your Marriage Brimming by Ogden Nash

To keep your marriage brimming,
With love in the loving cup,
Whenever you’re wrong, admit it;
Whenever you’re right, shut up.

In My Blogosphere

Rhonda Gail | May 14, 2009
  • Popping up all over the web, this wedding as photographed by Erin Hearts Court is so stunning.  The photography is amazing and the wedding design, in a yellow and grey color scheme, is fresh and breathtaking. Featured on Style Me Pretty and the Erin Hearts Court blog.

  • On Bespoke, the blog for A White Box Weddings, Monica promises a new Style Saturday feature, What Not To Wear To a Wedding.  I look forward to this.  Some people really don’t understand what attire is appropriate!

  • With This Ring shares inspiration for non-matching bridesmaids, one of my favorite wedding details.  Love it!

Words To Wed By, II

Apache Wedding Blessing:

Now you will feel no rain,

For each of you will be shelter to the other.

Now you will feel no cold,

For each of you will be warmth to the other.

Now there is no loneliness for you,

For though you are two bodies,

You are only one life.

Go now to your dwelling place,

To enter into the days of your togetherness.

May your days be good and long upon this earth.

Words to Wed By, I

Rhonda Gail | May 5, 2009

Over the last year or so of wedding planning, I have read countless ceremony readings.  Only a few touched me enough to save them on my computer, and today, I start sharing those with you!  These aren’t revolutionary, and most people have probably read them already.  After all, I did find them via Google.  I just hope that someone finds what they have been looking for!

I Love You by Carl Sandberg

I love you for what you are, but I love you yet more for what you are going to be.

I love you not so much for your realities as for your ideals.

I pray for your desires that they may be great, rather than for your satisfactions, which may be so hazardously little.

A satisfied flower is one whose petals are about to fall.

The most beautiful rose is one hardly more than a bud wherein the pangs and ecstasies of desire are working for a larger and finer growth.

Not always shall you be what you are now.

You are going forward toward something great.

I am on the way with you and therefore I love you.
