Life. Love. Lipstick.

I have been in love with red and turquoise for a couple of years now, but never thought to do an inspiration board featuring it. Then I ran across a photo on Jonathan Canlas’ blog (photo of couple at center) a year or so ago, and wanted to build a wedding around it. Sadly, I have just now gotten around to it! Inspiration boards take me awhile to do, considering i painstakingly search for photos on my crawling dial-up internet. Also, I try not to just take photos from popular wedding inspiration sites and paste them together. I try to create a certain feel, and make you feel like you were at the “wedding” pictured.

I picture this wedding as being heavily stark white, with loud punches of turquoise and red in unexpected places. It is whimsical, light-hearted, and modern. I think this is my favorite board to date!

I kinda have an obsession with ribbon of all types… rich silks, sweet grosgrain, textured taffeta. I love it all. I can think of a million uses for ribbon in not only weddings, but everyday life. For now, a few ways to tie ribbons into your wedding.

• Wrapped around a boutonniere, ribbon can add a splash of color or whimsy.

• Ribbon makes a great accent to wedding stationery, whether as a belly band as an alternative to pocketfolds, or just a decorative touch.

• Ribbon-edged ring pillows are a great way to tie in colors or add a little pattern into your decor

• Lots of ribbons cascading from a bouquet makes quite the statement. I absolutely love it.

I hope this goes to prove that something as simple as ribbon can really transform! It doesn’t have to be an over-the-top smattering of bows, just something as easy as wrapping a coffee can with a few ribbons or tying a small bow to an invitation. Just play around with different ribbon and see what you can come up with!
